An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Summariser/coder to join our friendly GP practice following the retirement of a valued team member.
This post is for 27 hours per week. We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented individual to accurately summarise and code patient medical records, ensuring data is maintained in line with NHS and practice data quality standards.
The role involves summarising new patient records and incoming correspondence, coding clinical information using appropriate read codes, and maintaining up-to-date patient records. The postholder will also assist with general administrative duties and provide reception cover during staff absences when required.
The ideal candidate should have excellent attention to detail, strong IT and data entry skills, and the ability to work independently while managing their own workload. Good communication and teamwork skills are also essential.
It is essential that applicants have previous experience in summarising and coding patients’ records as well as knowledge of clinical systems such as Emis and Docman.
