Healthcare Assistant – 25 hours per week, Mount Florida Medical Centre

Mount Florida Medical Centre, is seeking a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our welcoming and supportive primary care team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care within a busy, community-focused practice in the south of Glasgow.
You will work under the supervision of our GPs and Practice Nurses, supporting the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care, across a wide range of clinical and administrative tasks.
Main Duties of the Job
• Carry out routine clinical observations (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, BMI)
• Perform phlebotomy
• Support chronic disease management reviews
• Conduct NHS Health Checks and new patient health checks
• Maintain accurate patient records on clinical systems
• Ensure treatment rooms and equipment remain clean, safe and well stocked
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support smooth practice operations
Person Specification
Essential
• Experience as an HCA, Support Worker or similar role — or transferable experience from a health or social care setting
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Basic IT and record-keeping skills
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and NHS values
Desirable
• Experience working in general practice or primary care
• SVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification)
• Phlebotomy
• Familiarity with clinical systems (e.g. EMIS/Vision)
