Salaried GP Post, Northcote Surgery

Northcote Surgery is recruiting an additional salaried GP to join our excellent clinical team. We are offering 6 sessions per week for an initial fixed term of 12 months, but we are hoping this may become a permanent post for the right candidate, and we are flexible in terms of days worked.

We are a friendly, forward thinking GP training practice which prides itself on offering a high standard of patient-centred care and we work out of a lovely Victorian stone-built building set in the leafy West-End of Glasgow close to Byres Road and the University of Glasgow. We have onsite parking and have a list size of just over 12,000 patients.

You will be joining a large, well-established and supportive team of clinicians, which currently includes 6 GP Partners, 2 salaried GP’s, 2 Practice Nurses, a prescribing Clinical Pharmacist and an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist. We have a loyal, skilled administrative team with a very experienced Practice Manager. We have close working relationships with our District Nursing & Health Visitor Teams, and meet with them face-to-face regularly.

As a Training Practice, we encourage an ethos of continual training & development, and in addition to our GP trainees, we also support Medical Students from the University of Edinburgh.

We meet informally daily, over coffee, and have a weekly clinical meeting which you will be welcome to participate in. We are paper light using EMIS and Docman. Our appointment system is a mix of pre-bookable face to face and telephone appointments, as well as offering ‘same-day’ urgent appointments via a duty doctor system. We traditionally have a low home visiting rate.

We anticipate that the position will commence around March 2026 to suit the successful candidate.
