  • Vacancy Details: Are you a dedicated and compassionate professional who is looking to make a difference? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Midlock Medical Centre. We are a GP training practice with a population of circa 9,300 patients, and we are seeking a highly motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic practice and provide exceptional care to our diverse patient community.

    We hold a GMS contract with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and are based in the Ibrox area of Glasgow. Our team is led by 6 GP Partners and a Practice Manager. We also employ a Retainer GP and have a team of Practice Nurses who oversee chronic disease management and provide treatment room care to our patients. Our team is complimented by a full administrative function who are trained in care navigation, and we are an accredited GP training practice who host GP trainees and medical students. We are part of a wider multidisciplinary team consisting of in-house pharmacy and physiotherapy as well as a Community Links Worker who supports and facilitates the social needs of our patients.

    The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of clinical and administrative services and will work as part of the Practice multidisciplinary team. Core responsibilities are undertaking phlebotomy/venepuncture and supporting the Practice Nurse team with the management of chronic disease clinics such as hypertension, thyroid and chronic kidney disease clinics as well as diabetic foot monitoring. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out baseline observations e.g. pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, urinalysis etc. and the processing of patient specimens.     Experience of working in General Practice would be desirable, however we welcome applicants who have worked in other healthcare settings in a similar capacity. Full training will be given to the successful candidate.
