Loch Lomond Surgery is looking for a Maternity Locum GP to join our friendly, supportive and stable team, for 4 sessions per week, starting from September- for around 9 to 12 months.

About the practice:

At the base of the magnificent Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, you will experience wonderful views and exhilarating outdoor pursuits on your doorstep. We serve a population of approximately 7,500 and are based in Alexandria town centre, with easy commute and access from Glasgow, Helensburgh & East Dunbartonshire. Our local hospitals are the Vale of Leven hospital and The Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. We are just a few minutes walk from Alexandria train station, Alexandria is served by the North Clyde Line, which is managed by ScotRail. The station is located close by and connects to Glasgow Queen Street and Glasgow Central.

Our team includes:

7 GP’s, including 5 partners & 2 salaried GPs. – 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners. – Practice Manager. – Practice Pharmacists. – Community Link Worker. – Phlebotomy Team. – Experienced reception and administrative staff, including an office team leader.

We work closely with our colleagues in secondary & community care, including District Nurses, Health Visitors and the Community Pharmacy Team.

We hold regular palliative care MDTs & child protection meetings. We meet as a practice each Monday, to review service development and operational matters. The Pharmacy hub offers support and processes immediate discharge letters.

Systems & workload:

We currently use EMIS PCS & Docman with a planned transition to Vision within the next 12 months. Our appointment system includes a mix of pre-bookable and same day telephone & face-to-face consultations. Our office team are trained in workflow optimisation which helps to reduce the clinician workload.
