Lennoxtown Medical Practice is a small semi-rural Practice and we are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and committed Practice Nurse to join our team.
We are a 2 partner forward thinking training Practice. We also have 1 salaried GP, 1 long–term locum GP and a permanent HCSW. We are fortunate to have a selection of attached staff including a Pharmacist, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Physio Practitioner and CTAC Phlebotomy – all currently in-house. You will also be supported by an amazing administrative team who will do everything possible to make your job easier for you. At present, we are an Emis/Docman Practice and we will be moving to Vision.
The Practice itself is located within a modern Community Hub building, nestled at the foot of the Campsie Hills – approx. 30mins from Glasgow city centre. The public transport links are poor, so it is preferable that you can drive, due to our location. However; the views are spectacular making for a pleasant commute, even if you are stuck behind a cyclist. There is ample parking so that is one less thing to worry about.
With only 3100 patients we get to know our patients and their families personally. We are seeking a Practice Nurse who can provide a high level of clinical care and build long-lasting relationships with our patients, to support them in their health journey. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to, the management of patients with chronic diseases, cervical cytology, health promotion, lifestyle advice, CVD and Frailty DES management and handling of blood results.
As we are a small Practice you must be able to work autonomously. As such, you must be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and have previous experience in the role. Additional skills such as independent prescribing, advance clinical assessment or chronic disease diplomas are also desirable but not essential as further training could be considered for the right candidate.
