GP Maternity Locum, Ravenswood Surgery

We are a welcoming and friendly GP Practice in the suburban area of Johnstone in Renfrewshire, easily commutable from Glasgow, with a practice population of approximately 6500 patients.

We are looking for a Maternity Locum to cover 6 sessions per week within our Practice (Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday) commencing around March 2027.

Regular surgeries are made up of pre-booked 15 minute face-to-face/telephone consultation appointments. House call requests are ad hoc and discussed with the doctors on the day and allocated. Each GP has 20 acute prescription requests to complete and repeat prescriptions are signed by all throughout the day. Docman is checked and actioned daily by the on-call GP, who also has a triage clinic, sorting letters and results to appropriate staff with each Clinician being sent their own patient results to deal with. Another GP will be present within the practice at all times.

We are a flexible and hard-working Practice with a team of 3 GP Partners and 2 long-term locums, 2 Practice Nurses, a HCSW and an excellent admin team. We have Pharmacy Hub support 5 days a week, an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist, HSCP Phlebotomy cover, access to local treatment room, support from a Community Wellbeing Nurse and a Community Link Worker.

We use Vision, Docman and Lexacom dictation for referrals. We are based in renovated modern premises with on-site parking and local amenities close by – Starbucks, Aldi, Home Bargains and a Morrisons. We are just off the A737 and a short commute from Glasgow – 20 minutes from the West End. We strive to provide excellent patient care and are looking for someone to share our ethos of delivering high quality family medicine within a supportive atmosphere.
