- Vacancy Details: Whitevale Medical Group is looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic trained Practice Nurse to join our friendly practice team in the east end of Glasgow for 1 year as maternity cover starting in February 2025.We are a friendly, busy, practice and have been part of the local Dennistoun community for over 40 years. Operating from custom built premises with a practice list of approximately 5000 patients. The practice team includes 3 GP Partners and a Long Term Locum, a Practice Nurses as well as an experienced administrative team. The practice is supported by attached Pharmacists, District Nurses, Health Visitors and a Community Link Worker.
We are a longstanding accredited GP training practice currently teaching 5th year medical students in addition to ST1 & ST3 GP Registrars as well as supporting our own team to progress in knowledge and experience.
All applicants should hold a valid NMC registration and be eligible to work in the UK. Ideally the successful candidate will have certified training in chronic disease management i.e. Asthma, Diabetes and COPD, and also be proficient in cervical cytology within a GP setting. The Practice will provide a supportive and conducive environment for learning.
The candidate would be expected to be able to prioritise and maintain a high standard of record keeping and confidentiality. They should be comfortable working independently and as part of the wider clinical team.
Practice Nurse experience is essential however, applications from other nursing sectors may be considered if transferable skills can be demonstrated.
The systems we use in the practice are EMIS and Docman.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and post holder will be entitled to join the SPPA Pension scheme.
