Maternity Cover GP Locum – One Year, Cartside Medical Practice

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic six session Maternity Leave GP Locum, to join our team from July 2026.

We are a long-established practice based in Renfrewshire HSCP, serving the communities of Linwood and Houston. We look after 5,800 patients. Our purpose built health centre is a 15-minute drive from Glasgow City Centre, with ample-free parking onsite.

We operate a hybrid system of on-the-day and pre-bookable appointments. Standard appointment times are 15 minutes; sessions are punctuated by mid-way blocks to suit the GP. There is allocated administration time throughout the day for practice admin.

The role would include an allocated day as Duty Doctor each week, responsible for triaging on-the-day appointments and home visits.

We are a University of Glasgow affiliated teaching practice, currently with MBChB 4 & 5 Medical Students.

Our practice team includes an experienced Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager, in addition to our Senior Practice Nurse and Staff Nurse. We have a strong and experienced team of administrative staff.

We have paused our Vision migration and we remain an EMIS/Docman practice.

We are well supported by our wider practice team including our Practice Pharmacist, Pharmacy Hub, Mental Health Occupational Therapy Team, Phlebotomy Team, District Nurses and Health Visiting Team, with strong links to our local Palliative Care Team, based at St Vincent’s Hospice.

We have a LES with our local Nursing Home and provide a high quality of care to our patients, working closely with the team there.

We are looking to recruit a Maternity Locum GP for six sessions – working Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
