ADVERT FOR MATERNITY LOCUM April 2026 – November 2026

Our small and friendly practice is looking for a maternity locum for 7 months from mid-April 2026 until mid-November 2026 – 6 sessions per week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday would be ideal.
[Monday and Tuesday on with other partner and Thursday with St3 trainee]
Our clinical team consists of 2 GP partner’s and x2 GP trainees [ST1 and ST3]. There is support within the practice with HCA’s and Practice Nurse. We have an excellent treatment room on site and Heath Visitor colleagues for support, along with District Nurse provision. We also have a pharmacy team – a mix of experienced pharmacists and technicians. We have a Welfare Rights worker and Community Link worker too, full-time in the practice. We are a warm, welcoming and friendly practice with an excellent administrative team.
We have a low house visit rate. We are very aware of the well-being of our team, and so encourage a sustainable work/life balance.
The Practice uses EMIS and Docman software. Patient list size is just over 3000.
Sessions include a mix of telephone triage and face-to-face consultations with dedicated admin time, with house visits at the GP’s discretion.
• Our appointments are 15mins long. Surgeries consist of 8 F2F AM + PM, however, often the first half of the morning appointments are dedicated to triaging.
• Admin time is given for dealing with self-generated results, and a share of daily practice admin e.g. prescription requests and signing.
A morning coffee break is factored in at 11am every day!
