We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic highly motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and pro-active team at Clydeview Medical Practice. We are a 4 Partner GP practice, supported by a Practice Manager, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Long term GP locums, Practice Nurse, Healthcare Support Worker and friendly administration team. We also have a Community Link Worker, Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner, Community Drug Worker and Pharmacy support via the Pharmacy Hub.

We are also an accredited training practice, currently supporting ST3s and FY2 Doctors.

The Practice is based within the Renfrew Health and Social Work Centre, in Renfrew and we have excellent motorway links from the M8 west and east bound and the Clyde tunnel. We are only 5 minutes from Braehead Shopping Centre.

Our list size is just over 10,000 patients and we currently use EMIS and DOCMAN.

The post holder would be accountable for the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the whole practice population, supporting patients to be healthy, early management of long-term conditions, health prevention and screening activities. The focus of the role is the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients with acute and chronic conditions and management and preventative nursing interventions to all patients. You will support the wider clinical team providing advice and guidance where applicable.

To fulfil requirements of the post you should be familiar with:

• Cervical cytology

• Management of long term conditions (or willingness to undertake the training)

• Infection Control & Clinical Governance

The job holder would ideally have experience working in General Practice, be registered with a recognised professional body and adhere to the standards recommended by the NMC.

The successful applicant should be an enthusiastic and reliable person who enjoys working autonomously but also as part of a team. They should have good communication skills, IT skills and knowledge; organisational skills together with the ability to prioritise and think creatively about service provision.

The post will include general nursing duties, chronic disease management, and cervical screening. This list is not exhaustive and you will be supported and encouraged in your continuing professional development.

All applicants should hold a valid NMC registration, agree to PVG Scheme membership/record and be eligible to work in the UK. They should also have excellent interpersonal, communication, administrative and organisational skills as well as a willingness to work collaboratively and be an active part of our clinical team.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

A prescribing qualification would be preferred.
