Main Street Medical Centre are recruiting for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Practice Nurse, to join our friendly and supportive team, working alongside our established Practice Nurse and two Health Care assistants.

This opportunity arises as one of our established nurses relocates with her family and we are offering the opportunity to be mentored, providing a smooth handover and induction period for the right candidate. We are ideally looking for a full time applicant, but this can be negotiable. Salary competitive dependent on experience.

We are a busy practice, committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within our local community. As an established GP training practice we have a strong ethos of education, innovation and quality improvement. Our multi-disciplinary team consists of 4 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, GP Retainer, Practice Nurse, 2x HCSW, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner, Pharmacist, Community Links Practitioner, Whole Family Wellbeing Worker and Health Visitors who are based in our Practice. The team are supported by an established and skilled administration team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated clinician, who enjoys working autonomously and delivering high-quality patient care, within a modern primary care setting.

Patient Demographics:
• List size approximately 8,900 patients
• Mixed age population with significant multimorbidity in older adults
• High levels of socioeconomic deprivation with the practice serving a community in the Scottish Deep End
• Diverse care needs with a high volume of chronic disease

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will undertake a full range of Practice Nurse duties, including:
• Chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD
• Management of clinical correspondence (Docman)
• Cervical screening
• Health promotion and lifestyle advice
• Phlebotomy
• NHS Health Checks
• Infection prevention and control
• Contribute to quality improvement activity and enhanced services.
• Other duties appropriate to the role within a GP practice setting

About You:
We are looking for an individual who:
• Is a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
• Is experienced and can work autonomously – although experience in primary care is desirable we will happily look at other areas of experience favourably
• Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills
• Is able to work both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
• Is committed to delivering high standards of patient care
• Is competent in cervical screening (this is desirable but not essential as training can be arranged)
• Competent using digital/computerised clinical systems (Vision/ Docman desirable but not essential as training is available).
