Salaried GP, Abbey Medical Centre

Abbey Medical Centre would like to recruit one full time salaried GP (8 sessions per week).

We are a popular, visionary practice with a list size of over 11,000 patients. We currently have 7 GPs, 2 ANPs and 2 practice nurses. We have ANP triage of house calls every day, and currently receive paramedic support for house calls. We have a duty doctor every afternoon with protected time, to deal with any urgent unscheduled problems.

We aim to make best use of the new GP funding deal to improve patient access and to improve staff welfare. We recently increased our appointment length to 15 minutes, and plan to introduce protected timetabled admin sessions for all GPs, as well as protected time for CPD and practice meetings. We are basing these changes around the BMA safe working guidelines to improve practice sustainability. Our Practice is also eligible for the ‘Golden Hello’ payment for the successful candidate if not already received.

We have a friendly team headed up by an excellent practice manager, and all the GPs and nurses try to meet every day after morning surgery, for coffee and a chat. We pride ourselves on being a well organised and happy place to work.

We are hoping to recruit 8 sessions per week, and invite applications from those interested, either in a part time or a full time salaried position.
