We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join our friendly, supportive and organised Practice Admin Team due to staff retirement. We are a forward-thinking, patient-centred medical practice with a dedicated team comprising five GP Partners, two Salaried GPs, four Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), and one Practice Nurse. Our practice serves a patient list of 15,800 in a modern, well-equipped premises in the heart of Newton Mearns. Previous experience in GP Practice is essential. An ability to work under pressure but stay calm, be flexible and use your own initiative is also essential for this post. It is essential you have experience in Emis & Docman systems, all aspects of admin i.e. Typing, workflow, prescriptions and many other tasks on a daily basis. Also summarising and coding would be an advantage. We also would like someone that is happy to do training when required to help the fast growing practice. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to multi task. Have previous GP practice experience is essential.
There is currently 2 Full time/Part time Admin Assistant Posts available between the hours of 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday.You must be flexible and be able to cover sickness at short notice and cover annual leave.Salary will be dependent on experience.

This is a 20 hour/week role, Mon 1.30-5.30pm, Thurs 8.00-6pm and Fri 10-6pm. The role will include dealing with patients at reception and over the telephone, processing prescriptions and mail, booking and cancelling appointments, ‘signposting’ patients to the appropriate service, phoning hospitals, and many other administrative duties.
An ability to work under pressure at times whilst remaining calm in all aspects of work is required along with flexibility to change hours, possibly at short notice to cover when colleagues are on leave. Most training is in-house and online.
