Practice Nurse Prescriber, East Renfrewshire

Part-Time (Hours Negotiable)

Applications will only be considered from nurses with current General Practice experience and an Independent Prescribing qualification.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Practice Nurse Prescriber, to join our friendly and supportive team in East Renfrewshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated clinician, who enjoys working autonomously and delivering high-quality patient care, within a modern primary care setting.

The successful candidate will be an experienced General Practice nurse with a strong background in chronic disease management, cervical screening, and independent prescribing. Experience in minor illness management would be advantageous.

Previous General Practice experience and Independent Prescribing qualification are essential requirements for this role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive chronic disease management clinics, including:
Diabetes
Asthma
COPD
Hypertension
Cardiovascular disease
Undertake cervical screening (smears).
Provide medication reviews and prescribe within scope of practice.
Assess and manage patients presenting with minor illness (where appropriately trained).
Provide health promotion and preventative healthcare interventions.
Contribute to quality improvement activity and enhanced services.
Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective and patient-centred care.

Essential Criteria:
Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
Independent Prescriber qualification.
Recent experience working within a General Practice setting.
Demonstrable experience in chronic disease management.
Competent in cervical screening.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a varied clinical workload.

Desirable Criteria:
Minor Illness Practitioner qualification and/or experience.
Family planning and sexual health experience.
Experience using VISION clinical system.
