We are seeking a friendly, organised, and patient-focused Medical Receptionist, to join our busy GP Practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcoming patients in person and responding to telephone calls courteously and efficiently
• Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments using the clinical system
• Managing patient queries and signposting appropriately
• Handling correspondence, prescriptions, and general administrative duties
• Workflow Optimisation via Docman system
• Supporting clinicians and colleagues as part of a collaborative practice team
• Adhering to confidentiality, GDPR, and practice policies at all times
About You:
• Previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confident using computer systems; experience with clinical systems (e.g. EMIS/Docman is advantageous
• Confident using Windows 11 and Outlook
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
• Commitment to patient care and confidentiality
• Reliable and flexibility to cover during periods of annual leave and sickness
